Trevor Sinclair took to Twitter after West Ham United’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last night.

The Hammers legend suggested that David Moyes’s side would have won the game has Michail Antonio been playing.

West Ham took the lead against the Reds through a well taken Pablo Fornals goal. We played some good stuff, we were incredibly resilient and showcased how well organised we are now as a team.

We did lack any kind of cutting edge through the middle, however.

Sebastien Haller came in for the injured Antonio. And unfortunately for the Frenchman, he failed to deliver.

Sure, it was a tough game for the 26-year-old to show his class. Liverpool away is never easy regardless of what team Jurgen Klopp sent out.

But Haller quite simply needs to do more. He needs to make things happen for himself. Much in the same way that Michail Antonio does.

And Trevor Sinclair posted a tweet last night suggesting that West Ham would have beaten Liverpool had Antonio been playing:

Let’s hope that Micky isn’t out for too long. He is apparently already back in the gym, working on his fitness.

But until then, Haller needs to raise his game. The Frenchman either has to adapt to the way in which we play or David Moyes needs to change the entire system.

One would suggest that the latter makes little sense considering how much success we have had recently.

It’s Fulham at home up next for West Ham. And perhaps that game will be a better one to judge Haller on.

Sinclair’s tweet will probably be ringing loudly in the Frenchman’s ear, however. And if he has anything about him whatsoever, he will be desperate to prove Sinclair wrong.
