Jose Mourinho will still be harbouring hopes of finishing inside the top four this season, as unlikely as that may seem at the moment.
Tottenham are currently seven points adrift of fourth placed Chelsea.
West Ham, meanwhile, are in real trouble. David Moyes will be desperate for his side to get some points on the board as soon as possible.
The Hammers currently sit in 16th spot in the Premier League table, just two points clear of 19th placed Aston Villa, having played a game more than Dean Smith’s side.
So the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday week could be absolutely pivotal for both teams.
Having Dele Alli available will be of huge importance to Spurs. Whilst he will miss the Manchester United game next Friday, a one-game ban is probably the best that Jose Mourinho could have hoped for.
Meanwhile, West Ham and David Moyes will be cursing their luck.
The 24-year-old hasn’t been at his best this season. But he is still a vitally important player for Tottenham. And Jose Mourinho is clearly a big fan of the England international.
Dele has still racked up some very impressive numbers this season, with eight goals and four assist in 22 Premier League games to his name (Who Scored).
And he is the kind of player who could make a massive difference against West Ham.
The Hammers return to action at the London Stadium against Wolves on Saturday June 20th.
