Tomas Soucek hints at big change at West Ham United

Tomas Soucek has hinted that West Ham boss David Moyes has been trying something completely different during training this week.

The Hammers are currently in the midst of a really poor run of form and we have taken just five points from our last five Premier League games.

West Ham’s mini-blip has seen us lose ground on our rivals in the race for the top four.

The Hammers are still sitting in fifth place, however, and despite the fact that we’ve played more games than everyone else in and around us in the table, a few wins on the bounce would put us right back in the driving seat.

David Moyes cannot keep doing the same things hoping for different results though. That’s the definition of insanity after all!

And it seems though the Scot is at least trying to mix things up…

Tomas Soucek hints at big change at West Ham

The 26-year-old has been incredibly poor in recent months, just like the team in general have been.

The Czech Republic international was brilliant last season but his levels have dropped massively this term.

And Soucek lifted the lid on changes that are being made behind the scenes during training in an effort to arrest our alarming recent slide, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“We’ve done some different things during training at Rush Green with how we want to play and what we want to develop, and I think this can improve us as a team, how we play and how we want to play. We struggled with keeping the ball and creating chances against Newcastle, but we’ve been working hard to do our maximum, and we want to transfer that to the next game. That’s the best thing we can show against Wolves.”

Quite what the changes are remains to be seen.

With such a small squad at his disposal, there is only so much Moyes can do from a personnel perspective.

He can change systems, formations and playing styles, however.

Hopefully the West Ham players put their poor recent form behind them on Sunday and earn what would be a vital three points against Wolves.

It will be interesting to see how we set up on Sunday after Soucek’s comments today, that’s for sure.
