West Ham boss David Moyes has provided a transfer update as time continues to tick down with just 17 days remaining before the window slams shut.
The Hammers are flying high at the moment and we are currently sitting in fourth spot in the Premier League table, two points clear of fifth place Arsenal and four points ahead of sixth placed Tottenham.
Both clubs have games in hand over us, but with the North London Derby taking place on Sunday, a win for West Ham against Leeds would put us in a really strong position.

In order to make a proper fist of it though, and cement our place inside the Champions League places, Moyes absolutely must bring a couple of top-class signings to the London Stadium in the January transfer window.
West Ham are crying out for another top-class striker to compete with and provide cover for Michail Antonio. We really could do with another centre-back and a left-back as well.
David Moyes shares West Ham transfer update
If we are to keep up with the big boys, nothing else than a couple of top signings will do in the January transfer window.
Our bench for the match against Norwich on Wednesday was evidence of just how stretched we are as a squad at the moment.
And David Moyes told reporters today just how determined he is to change all of that, as quoted by Football.London:
“I would like to bring some news faces in if I could to add to the group of players I have got. But we will try and do it as well as we can. At the moment the ones we are looking for or the ones we would like to get are either not available or we just can’t get. We will keep looking and see what we can get between now and the end of the window.”
Moyes then went on to clarify just how much he and the owners want to get some players in:
“I think West Ham is an appealing club, a London club, we are certainly more appealing now than we have been for a long time and the job is to keep that going and to try to add to it. I am really keen to add to it, the board are with me they want to add as well they are they’re very supportive. So it’s actually trying to identify the right players and bring in players who we would really like to bring here and go on the rest of the journey so we will keep looking and hopefully something will appear for us in the last couple of weeks.”
There is still plenty of time to get things done. And the good news is that we only have two more Premier League games to play between now and February 8th.
So there will be plenty of time to bed any new signings in during the two-week winter break.
Whatever happens, the addition of a proven goalscorer should be the absolute bare minimum for West Ham this month.
Hopefully the board back Moyes with the funds needed to do just that.
