According to a report from the Evening Standard, West Ham boss David Moyes is prepared to sell Manuel Lanzini this summer. And some Hammers fans admitted on Twitter that they will be sad to see the Argentinian play-maker leave the London Stadium.
In other news…Insider: Bid for key West Ham ace imminent and Moyes may be forced to sell on the cheap
The 27-year-old joined West Ham on loan in the summer of 2015, before making his move to east London a permanent one the following summer for around £9 million (Daily Mail).
Lanzini enjoyed a wonderful first two or three years with the Hammers. And he quickly established himself as a real fan favourite.
Play-maker has really struggled this season
But his form has drastically dipped over the past 12 months.
The Argentina international suffered a serious injury just before the 2018 World Cup, and he quite simply hasn’t been the same player since.
Lanzini has racked up just three assists and no goals in 25 games for West Ham this season (Transfermarkt).
The Evening Standard claims that David Moyes is now ready to give up on the 27-year-old.
And Some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to those claims…
It will hurt to see Lanzini go, he was my favourite player for a couple of years but out of nowhere he just became a passenger. He’s not good enough anymore and its a shame but its time for him to leave. https://t.co/4jRue7OsL2

I don’t think people realise how bad his injury was. So easily career ending

They reckon it’s one of the worst knee injuries to happen, if you see footage of the Argentinan team after it happened. They looked devastated 😢

I love Lanzini and it will kill me to see him leave but unfortunately i think it will have to happen for the better of us and him. just wish he could get back to 15-16, 16-17, 17-18 Lanzini😓

Gutted about Lanzini, but that ACL injury has ruined him, and I doubt he’ll ever be the same player, as for Anderson he’s been one of our worst signings ever, he lost interest a season and half ago, we’ll be lucky to get half back of what we wasted on him!! ⚒

If Messi didn’t perform one season westham fans would want him out.

That season with him and Payet was glorious. Sadly, he’s not been the same since the injury. Time to move on. Thanks Manu ⚒
