The Hammers are in a great position in the Premier League table.

Champions League football should be well within our grasp this term.

It is just so frustrating that the West Ham board didn’t go all out in January in order to really make a push for the top four.

Michail Antonio is the only recognised senior striker David Moyes has at his disposal.

Failing to bring in a back-up for the 30-year-old after selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax was beyond negligible.

The Hammers may well end up paying the price.

“They’re not playing with a recognised number nine, and when Antonio isn’t fit they don’t have any other number nine. They sold Haller to Ajax for £22.5 million but they didn’t reinvest that money. And that’s where the frustration lies. You’re in a position like this, invest!”

West Ham will surely strengthen in the summer.

If we miss out on European football this season, however, it really will feel like a massive missed opportunity.

Let’s just hope that ouR key players remain fit for the remainder of the campaign. We are an injury to Declan Rice or Tomas Soucek away from a real disaster.

And if we do end up slipping out of the European spots, it is very clear where the blame will lie.
