A reporter close to the West Ham owners has doubled down on an ultimatum allegedly facing David Moyes over his job safety.
When West Ham went into the pause for the World Cup it was to a cacophony of noise around Moyes’ job.
Fans may not want to be reminded of the fact, but three dismal home defeats in a week to Crystal Palace, Blackburn’s reserves and Leicester have left West Ham one point off the bottom three and out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle.
West Ham’s poor form – which stretches back a full year with just 13 wins in their last 42 Premier League games – sparked intense speculation that the Scot could be axed from the Hammers hotseat.

Co-owner David Sullivan spoke to Hammers News to give Moyes his full backing. But that did not stop claims from elsewhere that the boss is on a knife-edge when the Premier League resumes next weekend.
Again Sullivan spoke to Hammers News to deny reports that he had fallen out with the manager.
The Scot has maintained a radio silence during the World Cup break as speculation over his West Ham future swirled.
Moyes has been publicly backed by the owners via Hammers News.
But fellow Hammers website Claret and Hugh has long maintained that Moyes effectively has four games to get a set number of points and remain manager.

West Ham are back in action with a daunting trip to face league leaders Arsenal on Boxing Day night.
Now a reporter close to the West Ham owners has doubled down on the Moyes job safety ultimatum claim.
Hughie Southon claims the owners are adopting a points per game stance given the Hammers find themselves at the wrong end of the table. And Moyes has been left under no illusions results and performances must improve.
“The next three games will prove critical – Arsenal away, Brentford at home and Leeds away – from which the club will be looking for a minimum of four points,” Southon claims on Claret and Hugh.
“An exit from the FA Cup away at Brentford and either a draw or defeat Wolves would be crushing blows for the manager.”
