According to a report from the Telegraph, West Ham boss David Moyes wants to sign Bournemouth full-back Adam Smith this summer.
The 29-year-old right-back, who can also operate as a left-back, impressed against the Hammers at the London Stadium yesterday.
David Moyes desperately needs to bolster both full-back departments this summer.
Aaron Cresswell has badly regressed over the past couple of years whilst Arthur Masuaku just isn’t good enough to be playing left-back for a Premier League club.
Meanwhile at right-back, Ryan Fredericks isn’t of Premier League quality, whilst Ben Johnson’s display yesterday was concerning.
And the Telegraph claims that Bournemouth ace Adam Smith could be an option for West Ham this summer.
The London born defender really impressed against the Hammers yesterday. Smith was solid defensively and scored a great goal in the second half too. And it seems as though he caught the eye of David Moyes.
The 29-year-old made 24 Premier League appearances for the Cherries last season. In those outings, he racked up one assist and averaged 2.1 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, and two clearances per game (Who Scored).
Smith is a solid Premier League performer, and he would be a useful addition for us.
The Telegraph claims that the Bournemouth ace is available as well. Let’s just hope that the West Ham owners don’t put in a derogatory bid – in other words sabotage their chances of actually having to spend some money.
