Report: West Ham ‘very close’ to making third summer signing with £10m man LS bound

West Ham United are thought to be very close to completing the summer signing of Juventus left-back Luca Pellegrini.

That’s according to a report from Italian publication Spazio Juve who claim that a ‘definitive closure’ for Pellegrini’s transfer from Juventus to West Ham could be announced shortly.

Signing a top-class let-back will be one of the main priorities for David Moyes this summer and Luca Pellegrini would be a fantastic addition for the Hammers.

Aaron Cresswell has been superb for the East London outfit over the past eight years but he showed worrying signs of regression last season.

If Moyes brings a big upgrade on Cresswell to the London Stadium this summer, West Ham will be in a really strong position ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

And it seems as though the Scot is very close to doing just that…

According to a report from Spazio Juve, the Hammers are closing in on the capture of Luca Pellegrini from Juventus.

It is alleged that the 23-year-old will cost somewhere around £10 million according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.

We think that Pellegrini will be a superb addition for the Hammers this summer.

Pellegrini has bags of pace, is an able defender and offers a lot going forward as well. He is at an age where he will undoubtedly continue to improve at a fairly fast rate as well.

Pellegrini joined Juventus from Roma in 2019 for around £19 million (SI Soccer). He made an immediate impression in Turin but hasn’t been a regular starter over the past 18 months.

The 23-year-old is an attacking full-back by nature and can also operate further up the pitch if need be.

He actually rejected a move to West Ham in the summer of 2021 because he wanted to stay and fight for his place at Juve (Bianconero).

That obviously hasn’t worked out for him though. A move to the London Stadium would be a smart step for his career.

And it seems as though East London could very well be Pellegrini’s next destination.

West Ham are seemingly very close to making our third summer signing.
