AC Milan are ready to offer alleged West Ham target Franck Kessie to Arsenal in exchange for Lucas Torreira this summer, according to a report from Italian publication Calcio Mercato.
And that could be a real blow for the Hammers.

David Moyes will surely be keen to bolster his central midfield options this summer. Even if West Ham manage to sign Tomas Soucek permanently at the end of the season, there will still be the need for further reinforcements.
Carlos Sanchez is almost certainly set to leave the Hammers this summer. Mark Noble has massively regressed this season, whilst Declan Rice has constantly been linked with a big money move away from the London Stadium.
AC Milan ace Kessie would have been the ideal summer addition for West Ham. But with Calcio Mercato claiming that the 23-year-old has been offered to Arsenal, the east London outfit really have their work cut out.
Kessie has racked up one goal and one assist in 23 Serie A outings for Milan this season (Who Scored).
In those appearances, the Ivorian has averaged 1.7 tackles and 0.7 interceptions per game. He has also averaged 41 passes per game during that period, with an incredibly impressive completion rate of 88.1% (Who Scored).
The Milan ace seems to be ideally suited to the Premier League. And he would be a truly excellent addition for West Ham.
But Moyes faces a real problem if Arsenal boss Arteta is in fact keen to swap Torreira for the Ivory Coast international.
Race heating up for Kessie
Perhaps the Milan ace would prefer to move to the Emirates and have the chance of winning trophies. Something that would be unlikely at the London Stadium in the next few years.
West Ham might be able to offer Kessie more regular game-time than Arsenal would, however. So who knows? Perhaps the Hammers still might be able to beat their London rivals to the powerful midfielder’s signature.
But the Gunners being offered the 23-year-old by Milan will undoubtedly be an unwanted headache for Moyes and co.
Calico Mercato claims that AC Milan could sell the midfielder for around €40 million (£36 million). That fee might well drop, however, due to the global health crisis. And Arsenal or West Ham might end up with a real bargain this summer.
