West Ham striker Sebastien Haller absolutely raved about Niko Kovac, when speaking exclusively to One Football.
The 48-year-old was linked with the Hammers job after Manuel Pellegrini got the sack in December 2019 (Claret and Hugh).

David Moyes eventually got the job, however. Most West Ham fans would have preferred Kovac though. That goes without saying.
The Croatian is highly respected in the game after working wonders with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Kovac didn’t live up to expectations at Bayern Munich, however, and he was relieved of his duties at the Allianz Arena in November 2019.
The forward-thinking young coach has been out of work since. But he will surely be snapped up by a big club at some point in the future.
And Haller absolutely raved about his former boss, when speaking exclusively to One Football, describing the 48-year-old as a ‘great’ coach:
“He is a great trainer. He had great ideas. This guy makes you work a lot, so yeah, as a manager, when you make your players work hard you should see results.”
Haller’s comments highlight just how highly Kovac is respected within the game.
His next step in the game will likely be a very exciting one. But he still has to prove himself following his struggles at Bayern.
The chance of appointing the Croatian has probably passed West Ham by now. Let’s just hope that the club’s owners don’t regret appointing David Moyes and that the Scot does the job that he was brought in to do.
