The 86-capped Ukraine international joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2018 for a fee believed to be worth around £18 million (Football Insider).
The 30-year-old attacker hasn’t lived up to expectations at the London Stadium, however.
He has experienced terrible problems with injuries, and has spent two prolonged spells on the sidelines during his 22 months with West Ham.
And Football.London claims that the Hammers are now keen to move the Ukraine international on this summer.
Stats
Yarmolenko has racked up just five goals and one assist in 24 Premier League games for the east London outfit. He also has recorded a shooting accuracy of just 41% during those outings. (premierleague.com).
Football Insider claimed in February that West Ham could sell the former Borussia Dortmund ace for a massive loss on the £18 million they paid for him in the summer of 2018.
Moving Yarmolenko on this summer will surely be the right call. Even if that means selling him for a bargain fee. Especially considering the fact that the 30-year-old earns £115,000 per week at West Ham (Spotrac).
If David Moyes wants to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium, he will surely need to shift some of the deadwood first.
And it seems as though the Ukraine international could be one of the first to be sacrificed.
