Swansea midfielder Matt Grimes is an option for West Ham before next Friday’s deadline according to a report from the Daily Star.

In other news…’Please make it happen’: Some West Ham fans urge Moyes to sign ‘wicked’ 28-year-old

Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to add a central midfielder to his ranks at the London Stadium before the extended transfer window closes on October 16th.

That is after Josh Cullen and Jack Wilshere both left West Ham on Monday.

Our budget is far from lavish, however. So Moyes will have to be clever in his recruitment.

The Daily Star reckon that Swansea ace Matt Grimes could be a target for the Hammers before the transfer window closes.

The Swans signed the 25-year-old from Exeter City in January 2015 for around £1.75 million (BBC).

And he has gone on to rack up three goals and 12 assists in 111 appearances for the Welsh outfit (Transfermarkt).

The industrious midfielder played all 46 Championship games for the Swans last season, and he racked up seven assists in the process (Transfermarkt).

Grimes is now allegedly valued at around £10 million (Watford Observer).

That does seem to be a lot of money for the 25-year-old. Perhaps some common ground can be found, however.

And if West Ham could pick Grimes up for around £5-6 million, he could be a useful addition for us.
