According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham have had a £13 million bid for Bournemouth forward Josh King rejected.

The Cherries are allegedly holding out for £17.5 million.

David Moyes’s priority before Friday should be to bring a centre-back to the London Stadium.

But it could be argued that West Ham desperately need another striker as well. If Michail Antonio suffers any kind injury, we could be in real trouble.

Sebastien Haller isn’t suited to play the lone striker role. And the Daily Mail claims that West Ham are targeting a move for Josh King in order to bolster their attacking options.

The Hammers are allegedly £4.5 million short of the Cherries’ valuation of the 50-capped Norway international, however.

Stats

The 28-year-old racked up six goals and four assists in 26 Premier League games last season (Who Scored).

In those outings, the Norway international averaged one shot, 1.2 key passes and two dribbles per game. He also won an average of 2.3 aerial duals per game (Who Scored).

The Bournemouth ace scored 16 goals in 36 Premier League games in the 2016/17 season. And that kind of return would take the Hammers to another level this term.

King is an incredibly hard worker, has plenty of energy and stamina, and he would be the ideal man to provide competition for West Ham’s current forwards.

This really would be a great one to get over the line.
