According to a report from La Repubblica, West Ham and Aston Villa are considering moves for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer.
In other news…West Ham insider claims Moyes is willing to sell two-cap international for £27 million
Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
Albian Ajeti and Jordan Hugill have been sold, leaving Sebastien Haller and Xande Silva as the club’s only recognised centre-forwards.
Villa boss Dean Smith is in the same boat at Villa Park. The Villans might just have a free run at the Argentine, however.
It is highly unlikely we will be making a move to sign Higuain this summer. Or any time at all for that matter.
Juventus have been trying to terminate the former Napoli ace’s contract, but that isn’t working (La Repubblica), so the Italian giants are now trying to farm him out to any club who wants him.
The 32-year-old Juve hitman earns £270k-a-week (Daily Mail). So it is easy to see why the Old Lady might struggle to offload him this summer.
Stats
Higuain has scored 306 goals in 632 career club games (Transfermarkt). There aren’t many better finishers out there than the Juve hitman, but he did struggle in England previously during his time on loan with Chelsea.
The 32-year-old would undoubtedly be a useful addition for West Ham or Aston Villa, however.
Let’s face it though…we’ve got no chance of signing him.
It seems as though we have already missed out on the likes of Eberechi Eze, Matty Cash and Antonee Robinson.
And if we can’t compete for those kinds of names, we simply have no chance of signing someone with Higuain’s pedigree.
