West Ham United are allegedly quietly concerned about the troublesome knee of key centre-back Kurt Zouma.
That’s according to a report from 90min who claim that because of that, the Hammers are trying to speed up a deal to sign Thilo Kehrer from Paris Saint-Germain.
West Ham signed the 27-year-old from Chelsea last summer for around £30 million (BBC).
Zouma has been a great signing for West Ham but he has experienced a fair amount of injury problems. He spent a couple of months on the sidelines last season.
Zouma has looked fairly shaky during our opening two Premier League games this season. He certainly hasn’t been the dominant force that he was last term.
And there are seemingly some concerned people at the London Stadium regarding the Frenchman…
West Ham concerned about Kurt Zouma
According to a report from 90min, the Hammers have concerns about Zouma’s reliability from a fitness perspective.
The 27-year-old has had long-standing problems with his knees that go back to 2016 when he was with Chelsea.
Zouma’s move to West Ham last summer was actually in danger of collapsing at the final hurdle due to complications with his medical pertaining to his troublesome knee, according to the Mirror.
The ex-Chelsea man has obviously been struggling with his fitness during the early stages of the Premier League season.
He is West Ham’s only fit senior centre-back though! So David Moyes has probably asked him to play through the pain.
Let’s hope it’s only a minor problem that the 27-year-old is suffering with.
West Ham desperately need Kurt Zouma to remain fit for the entirety of the season.
According to 90min though, there are some serious concerns at the London Stadium about the Frenchman. And that should be a huge worry for everyone involved with the club.
