It has also been claimed that Blues boss Frank Lampard is ready to slash the 25-year-old’s £35 million asking price.
According to a report from Transfer 20, Hammers boss David Moyes is very keen to being the French midfielder to the London Stadium this summer.
And the Sun now claims that Lampard is willing to sanction to the Chelsea ace’s exit from Stamford Bridge. In fact, they suggest that he is desperate to do so.
Bakayoko joined the west London outfit from Monaco in the summer of 2017 for around £40 million (BBC).
He really struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge, however.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with AC Milan and this term he has been with his former club Monaco – again, on loan.
Decent stats this season
In 20 league outings for the French side this season, Bakayoko has racked up one goal and two assists (Who Scored).
In those appearances, the Chelsea-owned ace has averaged 2.4 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 0.9 clearances and 1.3 dribbles (Who Scored).
The 25-year-old obviously struggled in the Premier League, but he has been decent in Ligue 1 this term.
Perhaps he could be a useful addition for West Ham. But only if the price is right. Maybe if Chelsea dropped their asking price down to around £20 million for the Frenchman, he might be worth a punt for the Hammers.
And judging by the Sun’s report, the Blues could very well be prepared to listen to offers in that region.
