West Ham will have to pay Tiemoue Bakayoko £90,000 per week, if they are to sign the midfielder from Chelsea this summer, according to French media outlet Le 10 Sport.

According to a report from Transfer 20, the Hammers are in pole position to sign the 25-year-old Blues ace this summer.

David Moyes will undoubtedly be keen to bolster his central midfield ranks this summer.

So would Bakayoko be a useful option for them?

Transfer 20 reckon the Frenchman will cost somewhere around £31 million. And Le 10 Sport claims he will demand just over £4.7 million per year (£90,000 per week) in wages.

Expensive risk

For someone who has struggled to establish himself in the Premier League, however, that does seem like a rather extortionate outlay.

Especially for a team like West Ham, with finances expected to be tight this summer.

Frank Lampard is willing to let Bakayoko leave Stamford Bridge this summer, however, according to the Sun.

So perhaps if the Hammers could pick the midfielder up for around half of Chelsea’s reported £31m valuation, he would be a decent signing for them.

Bakayoko has spent this past season on loan in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco, and he has performed admirably.

In 20 league outings for the French side this season, the 25-year-old has racked up one goal and two assists (Who Scored).

In those appearances, the Chelsea-owned ace has averaged 2.4 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 0.9 clearances and 1.3 dribbles (Who Scored).

Bakayoko has made vast improvements this term on his first two seasons with Chelsea.

It remains to be seen whether or not West Ham will be willing to take a punt on the Blues midfielder, however.
