According to a report from Sky Sports, Celtic want to sign West Ham striker Albian Ajeti this summer. This comes after recent claims that David Moyes could sell the player signed by Manuel Pellegrini last summer.

The Switzerland international, who earns around £50,000 per week according to Sky Sports, has really struggled to settle at the London Stadium. He moved to the Hammers from FC Basel last summer for around £8 million (BBC).

In 11 appearances for West Ham, the 23-year-old forward has failed to rack up either a goal or an assist (Transfermarkt).

That clearly isn’t good enough. But it could also be argued that Ajeti quite simply hasn’t been given enough chances to prove himself this season.

According to claims from ExWHUemployee, David Moyes is prepared to move the Swiss hitman on from the Hammers this summer.

And Sky Sports are now claiming that Neil Lennon wants to bring Ajeti to Celtic Park.

Who knows? Perhaps the Scottish Premiership will be more suited to the FC Basel man.

Correct decision to sell?

Moving the 23-year-old on will 100% be the right call from Moyes. Especially considering recent reports claiming that the Scot will have to sell before he can buy (Claret and Hugh).

West Ham need to bring in someone who can push Sebastien Haller all the way next season.

And selling Ajeti would be a sensible move if Moyes is to have any funds to play with this summer. The Hammers surely won’t be able to recoup anywhere near the £8 million they paid for him 12 months ago, however.
