According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, West Ham are interested in signing Juventus ace Aaron Ramsey. The Hammers will have to pay at least £23 million for the 29-year-old and could face competition from Crystal Palace for his signature.

David Moyes has a lot of work to do if he is to guide his team to Premier League survival once again this season.

The Scot desperately needs to bring some quality into the London Stadium.

West Ham need defenders and an established centre-forward. But our lack of depth in central midfield cannot be underestimated.

We are an injury to Declan Rice or Tomas Soucek away from total disaster.

And Calcio Mercato suggests that the Hammers could look to rectify that issue by bringing in Juventus ace Aaron Ramsey.

The 60-capped Wales international’s massive £250k-a-week wages (Evening Standard) will obviously represent a huge problem for West Ham.

If he is prepared to negotiate, however, we might just be able to tempt him into a move to east London.

Stats

Ramsey racked up four goals and one assist in 30 games for Juventus last season (Who Scored).

The former Arsenal man possesses energy and stamina in abundance, and he would be a truly great addition for us.

The rumour linking us with interest in the 29-year-old does seem to be a little unrealistic, however. As mentioned earlier, we have more pressing priorities than signing a new midfielder.

That’s not to say that we don’t need someone like Ramsey, however. It just seems that he might prove to be out of our league financially.
