Hammers boss David Moyes has been monitoring the 27-year-old for quite some time now.

The Sun (August 9th, page 60) reported last month that West Ham were weighing up a bid for Masopust.

iSport then claimed that the east London outfit had a £4.8 million for the winger rejected.

iSport now claims that the Hammers are ready to make an £8 million bid for the 12-capped Czech Republic international.

The addition of another winger should be far from Moyes’s priority.

But considering the fact that Grady Diangana has been sold and claims suggesting that Felipe Anderson could follow him out the door at the London Stadium (The Mirror), the Scot might actually need to bolster his wide attacking department before the transfer window closes.

And Masopust, a former teammate of Tomas Soucek, would be a useful addition for West Ham.

Stats

The 27-year-old racked up seven goals and five assists in 37 games for Slavia Prague last season (Transfermarkt).

Masopust played a key role for his team as they picked up yet another Czech league title. He is experienced, hard-working and has the ability to whip very dangerous balls into the box.

Maybe that could help bring out the best in Sebastien Haller. Who knows. But either way, £8 million for Masopust seems like excellent business.
