According to a report from Sport Mediaset, West Ham have held talks with Juventus regarding potential transfers this summer. The Old Lady are allegedly keen to sell up to six first-team players this summer.

Whilst no names were specifically linked with the Hammers in the report, the east London outfit have been linked with one Juve ace recently.

Calcio Mercato claimed back in April that West Ham boss David Moyes wants to sign Sami Khedira this summer.

And Calcio Mercato also suggest that the 33-year-old World Cup winner fancies a move to London.

The problem is that Khedira doesn’t fit into the age profile of signings Moyes insists he wants to make this summer.

The German is certainly not young and he clearly doesn’t have a point to prove to anyone.

We can’t afford another expensive mistake in the transfer market

West Ham should be targeting younger players with potential. The last thing we need is to sign another ageing star who is past his best and would undoubtedly command extortionate wages. We have made this mistake so many times before.

It will be interesting to see whether the Hammers are interested in any other Juve players aside from Khedira, however.

Having said that, it has been widely reported that West Ham have limited funds to spend this summer. So perhaps Juventus are wasting their time discussing potential transfers with the east London club.
