According to a report from HLN, West Ham boss David Moyes is now prioritising a move to sign Club Brugge ace Hans Vanaken.

The Hammers are on the verge of strengthening at right-back, with Vladimir Coufal set to move to the London Stadium from Slavia Prague (Sky Sports).

It seems as though David Moyes’ business is far from finished, however.

HLN claimed yesterday that West Ham made a £14 million bid for Club Brugge ace Hans Vanaken.

News 1 reckon the Belgian club will hold out for close to £18.5 million for the talented midfielder.

Whether the Hammers can stretch to that kind of fee, however, remains to be seen.

Vanaken would be a great addition for West Ham.

The Hammers are solid enough in central midfield. But we do lack goals and creativity. And the Belgian international would solve that particular issue in an instant.

Stats

Vanaken has racked up four goals and two assists already this season in just six league games for Club Brugge (Who Scored).

Last season he racked up 13 goals and three assists in 29 Jupiler League outings (Transfermarkt).

The 28-year-old could be considered as an upgrade on Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Fornals. And he could very well thrive at the London Stadium.

Vanaken would also jump at the chance to join West Ham, according to a report from The Sun.

If Brugge want £18.5 million, we just have to pay it. The 28-year-old still has three or four years left before he will start to decline physically.

We’ve just got to make this one happen.
