West Ham are set to battle it out with Roma for Hoffenheim striker Munas Dabbur, according to a report from Transfer 20.
In other news…Opinion: West Ham signing 29-year-old after Liverpool exit could be a masterstroke
Hammers boss David Moyes clearly needs to bolster his centre-forward ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
Michail Antonio has seemingly been converted into a centre-forward. But the 30-year-old is far from a natural goalscorer.
Sebastien Haller and Xande Silva are West Ham’s only recognised centre-forwards. And that really has to change before the impending transfer deadline.
Transfer 20 reckon that Moyes could attempt to solve that particular issue by bringing Hoffenheim striker Munas Dabbur to the London Stadium.
The 28-year-old joined the Bundesliga outfit in January from Sevilla for around £11 million (Bulinews).
Stats
The 23-capped Israel international has gone on to rack up six goals in 17 games for Hoffenheim (Transfermarkt).
Although Dabbur hasn’t scored bundles of goals over the past year or so, he was incredibly prolific before then.
The Israeli ace racked up 66 goals in two seasons from the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign. And he boasts an excellent career record of 161 goals in 337 games (Transfermarkt).
A move to the Premier League would obviously be a big jump up in both quality and intensity for Dabbur.
But he is the kind of fox in the box striker that we desperately crave. And the 28-year-old could form a great partnership with Sebastien Haller.
Let’s hope we can pick Dabbur up for a decent fee. The Israel international would be a very wise addition for us.
