According to a report from Football Insider, West Ham boss David Moyes wants to bring Monaco ace Chrislain Matsima to the London Stadium this summer.
Hammers boss Moyes will undoubtedly be looking to bolster his central defensive options this summer.
Angelo Ogbonna recently turned 32, whilst Fabian Balbuena and Winston Reid face uncertain futures in east London.
Moyes has repeatedly insisted that he will be targeting young, talented players with lots of potential in this summer’s transfer window.
And Football Insider claims that one of West Ham’s first points of call could be Monaco teenager Chrislain Matsima.
The Hammers could face competition from the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid for the 18-year-old’s signature, however.
Exciting young talent
Matsima is a towering centre-back. Standing at 6ft 3in, the young Frenchman is physically imposing and commanding in the air.
Football Insider claims that the centre-back is considered to be a star of the future at Monaco. And he is very highly rated in the principality.
It is suggested that West Ham have been keeping close tabs on the teenager and have been impressed with what they have seen so far.
The Hammers will obviously have their work cut out if they are to beat Juve and Atleti to his signature.
But if Moyes does manage to bring Matsima to the London Stadium this summer, it could be a real coup for West Ham.
