Nikola Vlasic is in the midst of a real decline in form after leaving West Ham United permanently to join Torino in the summer.
Torino signed Nikola Vlasic from West Ham in the summer transfer window for around £8 million (6 foot 2) after he spent the previous campaign on loan with the Serie A outfit.

Hammers boss David Moyes never played the 25-year-old in his correct position during the 2021/22 season, but the Croatian didn’t do enough to warrant regular first-team action either.

Vlasic performed well for Torino during his loan stint with them last season, but he has already received criticism for his performances this term.
And now the regional press in Turin have really gone in hard on the attacking midfielder…

Toro News suggest that the Croatia international is in decline this season, having secured a permanent, long-term contract with Torino.
Vlasic has played six games in all competitions this season and is still yet to register either a goal or an assist (Transfermarkt).

The 25-year-old certainly doesn’t look like the player he was last season, and more like the one who struggled so badly with West Ham.
It’s too early to write Nikola Vlasic off as a failure at Torino just yet.
However, if he continues to struggle for the entire campaign out in Italy, it may well mean that Moyes made the correct decision to sell him permanently, despite the huge loss that we made on him.
It will be interesting to keep an eye on his form over the next six or seven months.
