West Ham United fans who thought they might have one up on Tottenham Hotspur regarding their stadiums might need to think again.
Spurs are preparing to finally move into their wonderful new ground at White Hart Lane.
The stadium has attracted envious glances from Tottenham’s rivals.
Particularly West Ham fans who have never been entirely happy with their own move to the London Stadium.

Mind the gap
The distance from the stands to the pitch at the London Stadium is a major bone of contention for supporters.
Tottenham rubbed salt in the wound recently by announcing their stands will be the closest to the pitch in the top flight, just four metres away.
Both sets of fans are always looking to get one up on the other.
But the Hammers’ hopes of bragging rights over the respective stadiums from claims on Twitter have been quickly extinguished.
The West Ham Central Twitter account – which has nearly 40,000 followers – claimed as fact that the furthest away seats at Tottenham’s new ground are further away than the furthest seats at the London Stadium.

Whose seats are furthest away?
That has prompted a heated debate between the two sets of fans.
Now a diagram showing the stadium blueprints overlaid seems to have disproved the claim.
The red outline shows the London Stadium clearly extending further back on all sides compared to the new White Hart Lane (in black).

Hammers will soon have capacity bragging rights
The Hammers will soon have something to laud over their rivals, though.
That is some 4,000 more than Tottenham’s new ground and makes the London Stadium the second biggest in the Premier League.
The new capacity could be in place by next season.
