Paolo Di Canio endears himself even further still to West Ham fans during Italian TV appearance

To say that Paolo Di Canio is a legend at West Ham is an understatement.

The Italian is absolutely adored by the Hammers fanbase.

Di Canio spent four-and-a-half years at Upton Park, scoring 52 goals in the process.

The former Lazio, Sheffield Wednesday and Celtic ace was the most talented player to have played for West Ham since the likes of Geoff Hurst, Trevor Brooking and Alan Devonshire.

Not only was he incredibly skilful – a mercurial magician is putting lit lightly, but he was also immensely passionate.

Di Canio bled claret and blue. The Italian is idolised in East London. He is one of us.

The talismanic forward really did have everything you want in a player. The combination of outrageous quality and unrivalled passion made him a truly exceptional player.

How David Moyes must wish that he had a player like Paolo at the London Stadium now.

And the 52-year-old endeared himself even further still to the West Ham fans yesterday – if that is even possible.
