Pablo Fornals spoke to WHUFC.com and shared how he has a telepathic understanding with one of his West Ham teammates.
The 26-year-old Spaniard joined the Hammers from La Liga side Villarreal back in the summer of 2019 for around £24 million (BBC).
Fornals has gone on to establish himself as a huge fan favourite at the London Stadium.
The attacking midfielder is a technically brilliant player but what separates him from many others in his position is his incredible work-rate and desire to play for the badge.
Fornals is also a hugely popular player amongst his teammates at West Ham. That is obvious to see when everyone celebrates with him after he has scored.
And he has a very close relationship indeed with one Hammers player in particular.
Fornals lifts lid on telepathic understanding with West Ham teammate
The Spaniard has forged a really close bond with Michail Antonio since moving to the London Stadium just under three years ago.
It is common knowledge that they are best friends and are often seen cycling around London together.
It seems as though they have a really good understanding on the pitch as well.
Fornals told the club’s official website how he and Antonio know what one another are going to do without even looking at each other:
“Mich knows that if I am ready, without looking up, I am going to put the ball long for him. He knows that, and I know what he is going to do.”
It’s great that Fornals and Antonio share such a close bond off the pitch and such an incredible understanding on it.
The Spain and Jamaica internationals have been two of the most important players for David Moyes this season and we are very lucky to have both of them at the London Stadium.
Let’s hope that both Fornals and Antonio finish off the season in fine fashion for West Ham United.
Because we are a much better team when they’re both at their best.
