West Ham are interested in signing Reading defender Liam Moore according to a report from TEAMtalk. And the Hammers allegedly could face competition from Newcastle and Wolves for the 27-year-old’s signature.

David Moyes brought Craig Dawson in on loan from Watford earlier this month.
But that was clearly a short-term solution to a long-term problem.
The West Ham boss absolutely must look to bolster his central defensive ranks either in January or next summer.
And TEAMtalk claims that Reading skipper Liam Moore is a transfer target for the Hammers.
The east London outfit will allegedly have to battle the likes of Newcastle and Wolves for the centre-back’s signature, however.
Stats
Moore made 43 Championship appearances for the Royals last season and he scored one goal in the process (Who Scored).
During those outings, the 27-year-old averaged 1.1 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, four clearances and 1.2 blocks per game (Who Scored).
Moore joined Reading from Leicester City in the summer of 2016 for around £1.5 million, according to The Argus. And the Championship allegedly value the centre-back at around £4.5 million (Daily Record).
That would represent decent value for West Ham. Although it must be said – surely we should be aiming higher than Moore.
Let’s hope that we are somewhere inside the top eight by the time January comes around. And perhaps then we can be more ambitious with our transfer targets.
