Bitter rivals Millwall have posted a message about the passing of West Ham co-owner David Gold and it is pure class.
As anyone who knows anything about English football will be well aware, West Ham United and Millwall are sworn enemies since the dawn of the game in this country.
That rivalry has, on many occasions in the past, been a violent one full of hate between the Hammers and the Lions.
They say in moments of sadness, tragedy or crisis that the football family comes together.

And that is certainly the case today with regards the relationship between Millwall and West Ham.
It was announced on Wednesday that West Ham joint-chairman Gold had passed away following a short illness, aged 86.
In a statement on the club’s official website, West Ham stated that Gold had died peacefully on Wednesday morning with his devoted daughters, Jacqueline and Vanessa, and his fiancée Lesley, by his side.
The Hammers paid tributes to Gold with a statement from friend and fellow co-owner David Sullivan.
Now Millwall have posted a message about the passing of West Ham co-owner Gold and it is pure class.

“Everyone at Millwall sends their condolences to David’s friends, family, loved ones, and all at West Ham during this sad time,” Millwall posted on Twitter in response to the announcement from the Hammers.
That is real class from our oldest rivals and it has been met with an outpouring of emotion and thanks from West Ham fans online.
In their own tribute, West Ham stated: “A lifelong and ardent West Ham United fan, David Gold was born in Stepney in September 1936 and grew up at 442 Green Street, directly opposite the Boleyn Ground. As a promising young schoolboy player, he represented the Club’s boys’ team between the ages of 13 and 16 and later appeared in the youth team.
“After forging a career as a hugely successful businessman, his life came full circle in January 2010 when he became Joint-Chairman of West Ham United following the successful takeover that helped to steady the ship and protect the Club’s future during a period of great financial uncertainty.”
West Ham also confirmed a full tribute to Gold would take place in due course.
