Micah Richards absolutely rips into Issa Diop after horrendous display for West Ham against Kidderminster

Micah Richards absolutely laid into the Issa Diop after the West Ham United man’s shocking display against Kidderminster Harriers.

The 25-year-old was absolutely atrocious against the non-league side in the FA Cup this afternoon.

David Moyes hooked Diop at half-time and brought Craig Dawson on in his place. It was no surprise to anyone.

Non-league Kidderminster were very good and their attackers gave Diop the runaround all afternoon until he was saved from his embarrassment by being substituted.

Micah Richards lays into West Ham defender Issa Diop after display vs Kidderminster

The centre-back who was signed for £25 million from Toulouse back in the summer of 2018 (The Express) was so incredibly bad this afternoon that it would be no surprise if David Moyes moved him on from the London Stadium as a result.

It was a disgraceful performance that lacked any kind of quality, commitment, passion or know-how.

And Micah Richards let Diop have it with both barrels, when speaking on BBC Sport (Saturday February 5th, 1:19pm):

“Diop has been awful. I don’t understand, he needs to liven up. This is a big game. When the ball got nicked off him he just walks back. Everything in his game is just sloppy, too laboured and he needs to be faster.”

The fact that David Moyes failed to sign a centre-back in the January transfer window now looks like absolute gross negligence.

Surely there was someone out there who was available and could have done a better job than Diop.

The 25-year-old really is so far off the required standard it’s frightening.

Diop shouldn’t be anywhere near the West Ham squad. Everyone can see it – the fans, Moyes and the pundits. It’s time to move him on for good. Whether we will be able to get any kind of fee for him, however, is another matter entirely.
