The Hammers are flying high at the moment. We have won our last three games and now sit in fifth place in the Premier League table.

West Ham can climb as high as third with a win over Man United at the London Stadium on Saturday.

David Moyes’ side have every chance of beating United of course. It is worth remembering that we haven’t been anywhere near our best over the last three games, however.

The Hammers certainly weren’t at it in the first half against Aston Villa on Monday night.

And Lawrenson explained how Moyes alluded to that fact when the pair spoke earlier this week, as quoted by BBC Sport:

“West Ham are on a great run and are looking for their fourth straight win. I spoke to their manager, and my friend, David Moyes last week who told me Aston Villa were the better team during the 2-1 win and that his side were lucky to come away with three point. Having said that he has got his team competing well and they’re difficult to play against – Moysie might also feel he has a point to prove this weekend against his old employers.”

Lawro’s prediction: 1-1

Winning when you’re not playing well has always been the sign of a good side. There is no doubt that in previous seasons we would probably have taken a maximum of three points from our last three games.

West Ham are a totally different animal now. Even when the Hammers players are not at their best, they still makes things incredibly tough for the opposition.

Manchester United will be in for a difficult afternoon in east London tomorrow.

Let’s just hope that the boys turn up and we make it four in a row.
