Arthur Masuaku took to Twitter after West Ham’s defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last night.

The 26-year-old Hammers ace actually played very well against the Reds. He did give away a penalty when we were 1-0 up, however.
Mo Salah duly slotted home from the spot as Liverpool pegged us back just before half-time.
Masuaku should not have made the challenge that he did inside the penalty area. But nevertheless, Salah went down incredibly easy.
And the penalty was a very harsh one on West Ham.
The Democratic Republic of Congo international took to Twitter after last night’s game and suggested that he was mad at himself for giving the Liverpool ace a chance to even go down:
The ‘whatever happened’ part of the tweet could be perceived as a dig at Salah for going down too easily. And if that is the case, the West Ham ace is spot on.
Unfair criticism of Hammers ace perhaps?
Masuaku has been excellent for us this season. So we shouldn’t be too hard on him.
The former Olympiacos man has excelled when playing in the left wing-back role for West Ham.
And he has looked like a completely different player over the past six weeks or so.
David Moyes deserves great credit for giving Masuaku the opportunity to shine. And he has grabbed that chance with both hands.
Incidents like the one last night will probably happen from time to time. The 26-year-old isn’t a great defender after all.
But West Ham fans need to cut Arthur some slack. He has helped transform the way in which we play over the past couple of months.
And as mentioned earlier, as naive as the challenge was, it was incredibly unfortunate that the referee deemed it bad enough to award Liverpool a penalty.
We go again.
