Luca Pellegrini will surely now regret his decision not to leave Juve for West Ham when he had the chance in the summer after his omission from their Champions League squad.

The left-back has been omitted from Juve’s Champions League squad. That means that he will not be playing any European football this season if he stays in Turin post January.
Things could have been very different for the 22-year-old, however.
West Ham were confident of pushing through a loan deal to sign the Juventus left-back on deadline day according to a report from Tuttosport.

Pellegrini rejected a move to the London Stadium because he wanted to fight for his place at Juve, however, according to a report from Il Bianconero.
That now looks a questionable call to say the least.

The 22-year-old could have honed his skills with the Hammers for one season, gaining valuable experience in Europe along the way.
He will now only play domestic games for Juventus, if selected, having been omitted form their Champions League squad.

Pellegrini would have been a superb addition for the Hammers.
The Italian would have provided stiff competition and strong cover for Aaron Cresswell at the London Stadium.
The 22-year-old joined Juventus from Roma in 2019 for around £19 million (SI Soccer).

Pellegrini has bags of pace, is an able defender and offers a lot going forward as well.
He decided to stay in Turin and he will now have to live with that decision.

Joining West Ham on a season-long loan would surely have been better for his development as a footballer.
