Jurgen Klopp has pointed out the big change he has noticed about West Ham and hailed David Moyes ahead of the Liverpool clash.

West Ham head to Anfield on Wednesday to take on a Liverpool side looking rather ominously more like their old selves.

West Ham drew 1-1 at Southampton on Sunday – a result which left fans and manager Moyes hugely frustrated.

There was no such frustration for Liverpool, though, after they became the first team to beat Man City this season.

Anfield is very rarely a happy hunting ground for West Ham – or indeed any team as Man City found out to their cost on Sunday when Mo Salah scored in a 1-0 win.

But despite an uninspiring start to the season, West Ham go there with hope after the arrival of several quality players in the summer.

West Ham spent over £170m on eight signings. And one of them, Gianluca Scamacca, ended the club’s 18-month long search for a new striker.

The Italy star has quickly established himself as West Ham’s first choice striker, leaving Michail Antonio to play a different role, coming into the action from the bench.

But that may be no bad thing according to Liverpool’s manager.

Jurgen Klopp has pointed out the big change he has noticed about West Ham and hails David Moyes ahead of the Liverpool clash.

The German says the fact West Ham now have another quality striker means Antonio can play less games and be even more dangerous.

And the Reds boss also hailed the ‘incredible’ job done by Moyes since taking over in east London less than three years ago.

“We respect them a lot,” Klopp said about West Ham in his pre-match press conference.

“They caused us a lot of problems, here and there (at London Stadium) as well all the time.

“David is just doing an incredible job and now brought in new players, really quality players, options to change.

“Michail Antonio had to play like 80 games in the past pretty much!

“And now they can share it a little bit up front there, with international (European) duty. That makes absolute sense.

“(Lucas) Paqueta, great player; (Thilo) Kehrer I know obviously from Germany, top-class defender. Only to name a few.

“That’s just the development of West Ham and that makes it for us even more difficult.”
