Joe Cole shared something that David Moyes told him off air about what he wants to achieve at West Ham, when speaking during BT Sport’s production of today’s game (October 24th, 11:52am).

The Hammers have been mightily impressive following their opening day 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United at the London Stadium.
West Ham have managed to steady the ship. And we have taken a very impressive eight points from our opening six games.
Considering the fact that we have played Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester, Tottenham and now Manchester City, that really is a superb return.
The West Ham board received heavy criticism from the fans when they appointed David Moyes as manager (for the second time) in place of Manuel Pellegrini.
But it seems as though the Scot has now at least earned the chance to be given some time to implement his ideas and philosophies at the London Stadium.
And Joe Cole shared with BT Sport something that Moyes told him off air about what he wants to bring to the Hammers:
“We chatted for a long time off air, and he was bang on. He knew everything about the club. He knew about the culture of the club. He said, ‘I need to get this right’. He said he wants his team to be strong, athletic and he wants to get the basics right. I was so impressed with him as a manager and the way he has settled in at West Ham. I’m so impressed with what he is doing.”
It’s hard to argue with that. West Ham have made huge strides this season already.
And it seems as though a top eight finish might just be attainable this term. As long as Moyes keeps his players focused, we could prove a lot of people wrong today.
And today’s result and performance against Manchester City proved that.
