The Hammers have made a superb start to their 2020/21 Premier League campaign.
We are currently sitting in seventh spot in the table, just six points adrift of league leaders Leicester City.
If David Sullivan is prepared to adequately back David Moyes in the transfer market this month, there is no telling how much West Ham can achieve.
It will be vital for the Hammers boss to bring a centre-forward to the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut.
In truth, we could really do with a central midfielder and a left-back. But beggars can’t be choosers.
David Moyes backs West Ham for top seven
If West Ham don’t sign anyone, finishing inside the top 10 will be difficult, let alone the top seven.
Jarrod Bowen shared with BT Sport what David Moyes told the West Ham players about his aspirations for them this season:
“He spoke to us and said there is no reason why we can’t push for the top seven European places. From where we came last season it’s probably a bit hard to understand but after looking at the performances and the team we’ve got and the results we’ve picked up there’s no reason why come the end of the season we can’t finish inside the top seven.”
West Ham have kicked of 2021 with a bang. We’ve won our last four games in all competitions and are unbeaten in six.
David Moyes has installed a certain level of solidarity, organisation and belief – qualities that were absent during Manuel Pellegrini’s reign.
The Hammers have conceded just one goal in their last five games. Even when we haven’t played well we have managed to pick up wins.
That won’t last for ever though. If Moyes doesn’t bring in preferably two new signings this month, a top seven finish will surely be out of our reach.
Or will it?
West Ham have proved so many people wrong this season. And long may that continue.
