Jack Wilshere at it once again as he calls West Ham a ‘small club’ in latest interview

Out of work Jack Wilshere has been desperately trying to raise his profile and continues to criticise West Ham United to do just that.

West Ham fans are sick of hearing from Wilshere ever since he was released from the club last month.

Wilshere has made more appearances on football podcasts since then than he did on the pitch for West Ham in the two years he was there.

Wilshere has been critical of West Ham since departing on deadline day, October 5th.

Wilshere sounds off yet again

Speaking on the ITV Football Show podcast last week, Wilshere said there is no room for top class technical players like him under David Moyes at West Ham.

And now he has gone one step further, labelling West Ham – supposedly his boyhood team – a small club.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Wilshere says ‘being at a small club like West Ham did not suit him’.

“I’m in a position now where I can make a decision based on footballing reasons and pick the team that I think I could fit into,” Wilshere told Sky Sports.

“I will have a look at the team, the players, the league they’re in and how the manager wants to play.

‘West Ham a small club’ says bitter Wilshere

“I don’t think being at a smaller club like West Ham really suited me. There have been a few talks with clubs, but nothing that I have ever fancied quite yet.

“I don’t think I have a preference to be honest. It has to be the right club for footballing reasons whether that is in England, Spain, North America or anywhere, across Asia.

“I’m up for trying anything and I think at this point I have to be as well because I have been at a top club in England, I’ve been at a smaller club and I’m realistic to know that the chances of getting a big, big club in England are slim, so it might have to be somewhere else I have to look.”

Not wanted by Arsenal, not wanted by Bournemouth – who were offered the chance to take him after a spell on loan – and not wanted by his boyhood club West Ham.

Now seemingly not wanted by Premier League or Championship clubs, even on a free transfer.

Wilshere is the common denominator here. Perhaps he needs to start looking at himself before throwing stones and criticising a club that paid him millions for very little in return.

Get over it Jack… small clubs don’t get 60k fans and pack out away ends every week

Small clubs don’t dish out well over £10m in wages in two years to squad players.

Small clubs don’t get 60,000 fans at every home game and pack out away ends (during pre-Covid times of course).

And West Ham won’t be looking so small staring down from fifth place in the Premier League if they win tonight will they?

But if West Ham are a small club what does that say about Wilshere?

Get over it Jack because West Ham fans are over you.
