Hammers boss Moyes challenged Haller to ‘smile more’ in a recent interview with The Evening Standard.

Haller has previously said in interviews that he prefers to stay cool and calm on the pitch and that only his family brings out his true emotions (Bundesliga YouTube).

Some fans criticised Haller for what appeared to be a muted celebration after his strike at Bramall Lane.

But behind-the-scenes video posted on West Ham’s YouTube channel shows Haller DID celebrate with passion after the goal in footage not captured on Sky Sports at the weekend.

After a big team huddle following Haller’s goal, the forward pumps his fist and passionately roars: “Yes.”

The brilliant moment – which should hopefully put all the Haller nonsense to bed – can be seen from 9mins 30secs onwards in the West Ham YouTube video.

Haller looks set to start again against Aston Villa on Monday night.

West Ham fans may want to see more outward emotion from Haller on the pitch. But as the video demonstrates, it is there, sometimes we just can’t see it as we are reliant on what TV shows us.

Haller is a serious and focused guy.

But as long as he keeps scoring goals like that he can celebrate however he likes.
