West Ham youngster Kai Corbett has agreed to sign a new contract, according to reliable club insider EXWHUEmployee. The Hammers have moved quickly to tie down Corbett, who is highly rated by the club.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder will now continue to work his way through the ranks at West Ham. So far, he has predominantly played in the U16 and U17 teams but he already has seven U18 Premier League appearances to his name.
During the 2018/19 season, Corbett showcased his talent at the 2019 Generation Adidas Cup in Texas by scoring a handful of goals in the competition.
Corbett’s next challenge will be to nail down a permanent spot in the U18 team before moving up to the U23 team and eventually breaking into the first-team.
Kai Corbett follows Amadou Diallo
West Ham recently tied down another promising young player in Amadou Diallo, EXWHUEmployee revealed. The 16-year-old forward has already scored for the U23 team. And West Ham fended off interest from Germany, France and Spain.
Former midfielder and youth team coach Jack Collison was pleased with this new deal for Diallo. He said: “This could be the best bit of business this summer from [West Ham.] This boy is special.”
Corbett has now followed Diallo’s lead by committing his future to West Ham. The Hammers rate both players very highly and they could be a devastating pair for the future.
