According to a report from Claret and Hugh, West Ham are struggling in their quest to offload Jack Wilshere, and are resigned to the fact that he might well see out his contract at the London Stadium.

The 28-year-old, who earns £100,000 per week with the Hammers according to Spotrac, moved to east London on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.

The former Arsenal man has proven to be a terrible signing for West Ham, however.

Wilshere has made just 16 appearances for the Hammers in 20 months, racking up just one goal and one assist in the process (Transfermarkt).

And he has made just eight appearances for the east London outfit this season (Transfermarkt).

The former Arsenal man is out of contract in the summer of 2021. Moving him on as soon as possible will surely be the right decision. But according to Claret and Hugh, that could be easier said than done.

The well-renowned West Ham insiders suggest that the east London outfit are struggling to move the midfielder on, even on a free transfer.

So it seems as though the Hammers might be stuck with Wilshere until the summer of 2021.

Who knows though. Perhaps he might rediscover his fitness and best form and still have a key role to play for West Ham whenever the season eventually resumes.

That will be highly doubtful, however.
