West Ham could sell Tomas Soucek this summer with his agents already in discussions with clubs in the Premier League and abroad.

That’s according to high-level club insiders Claret and Hugh who claim that fresh contracts talks between the Hammers and the 27-year-old midfielder have stalled.

The Czech Republic international moved to a more defensive role last season and it just didn’t work out for him or the club.

Soucek joined West Ham originally on loan in January 2020 and made his move to the London Stadium a permanent one for around £15 million just six months later (The Daily Mail).

The 6ft 4in Hammers ace was absolutely brilliant during his first 18 months with the club.

He bagged 10 Premier League goals in his first full Premier League season for West Ham but his form deteriorated last term.

He was asked to play a new role by David Moyes though.

Soucek’s worst attribute is his passing ability and the way in which he slows down our transition. So it’s baffling that he has been asked to play the so-called ‘anchor role’ for West Ham this term. It just doesn’t make sense.

And now it seems as though big Tomas could be on his way out of the London Stadium

Tomas Soucek could make shock West Ham exit

Claret and Hugh reckon that the 27-year-old midfielder could be sold this summer after contract discussions reached an impasse.

The club insiders suggest that West Ham want around £40 million for Soucek but understand that a fee closer to £20 million for the Czech ace could be more realistic.

Selling the former Slavia Prague midfielder could be a big mistake from the Hammers, unless David Moyes has a huge upgrade lined up.

We would love to see Soucek stay at West Ham and for Moyes to play him in his correct position next season.

The Scot needs to give the 27-year-old the chance to prove that he still has what it takes to make a difference for this Hammers team.

It’s also worth noting that when Soucek isn’t playing, how much more vulnerable we look when defending set-pieces.

We truly believe that the Czech ace still has a lot to offer at the London Stadium.

If Tomas Soucek is allowed leave West Ham this summer though, Moyes may well end up regretting it.
