West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has dropped an exciting hint over the club’s kit plans for next season.

West Ham fans love to see a bit of effort made with their kits whether they respect tradition, go retro or try to be original.

On the whole West Ham’s kits for this the club’s 125th anniversary season have gone down well.

Fans generally seem happy with the home strip and it is safe to say they – and the players – love the black third kit.

West Ham are enjoying their best season for 35 years and have set a new Premier League record of 17 wins after the victory over Burnley on Monday night.

The Hammers have enjoyed some fantastic wins in the black kit which has become symbolic of a fantastic campaign under David Moyes.

The sky blue and claret striped away kit has divided opinion but it has been a job well done overall by Umbro this year.

So what are the plans for the 2021/22 season?

Well according to reliable insider ExWHUemployee on The West Ham Way podcast, the new kits will have a retro vibe and are going to be fantastic.

“I’ve semi found out (about next season’s kits),” Ex said on TWHW podcast (May 4th).

“I’ve had them described to me but I haven’t actually seen them myself. In order to do it justice, I am going to wait until next week until I say too much about them because it would just be a description from what someone else has told me rather than someone actually showing me them which I can probably get next week.

“But what I will say, just a little teaser for this week, they are based on some classic retro designs and I’ve told you (podcast co-host Dave Walker) which ones they are and you seem quite excited by that (‘They sound amazing’ Walker interjects to say).

“As I was when I first heard them I was like ‘yea that’s what I would like as well’…

“They’re based on some really quality retro kits that we’ve had in the past.”

Back in March a West Ham account supposedly leaked a planned silver-grey third kit for next season on Twitter.

Whether it was legitimate or not remains to be seen. Some West Ham fans likened it to the Leeds kit. Others quite liked it. You can see it in the story below.
