Gary Lineker took to Twitter to praise West Ham and Declan Rice in particular after our brilliant 4-1 win away at Aston Villa today.

The Hammers were brilliant on the whole and Rice was once again the standout performer for David Moyes’s side.

Rice scored a goal and provided an assist but his overall display was about so much more than his goal contributions.

The 22-year-old never stops running. He is absolutely everywhere for the Hammers.

David Moyes will have been delighted with his skipper’s performance against Aston Villa today.

He set the tone for us from the start and was still pushing right up until the final whistle.

Rice ran the show at Villa Park. What a player, what a talent and what a character he is turning out to be.

The West Ham fans love him and so do his teammates.

Dec is finally getting the credit that he deserves outside of the London Stadium now as well, however.

The England international has fast become one of the very best defensive midfielders in the world.

Rice has come on leaps and bounds this season. He has reached another level this season and that’s saying something considering how good he was last term.
