Gareth Barry absolutely raved about West Ham United ace Michail Antonio, when speaking on BT Sport tonight (17:34).
In other news…Report: David Moyes identifies ‘top target’ as West Ham ready second bid after £22m offer
The 30-year-old is an absolutely vital part of David Moyes’s setup at the London Stadium.
The Hammers attacker is powerful, energetic, a willing runner and offers a real outlet to our defenders when we’re under the cosh.
Antonio has only recently returned to action from a lengthy period on the sidelines through injury.
He is now the only recognised senior centre-forward at the club. There really is so much pressure on Michy’s shoulders.
Let’s hope David Moyes doesn’t overuse him and cause his hamstrings to act up yet again.
Gareth Barry a huge fan of Michail Antonio
The 30-year-old recently signed a new deal and now earns around £100k-a-week according to a report from The Mirror (November 15th, page 74). And he is undoubtedly worth every penny.
Gareth Barry absolutely raved about Antonio when speaking on BT Sport tonight (January 19th, 17:34):
“He’s a massive part of this team, they can’t operate without him. It’s there for everyone to see, his movement is good and he just gives them that outlet. He’s a huge miss when he’s not there. Their main priority is to keep him fit for the rest of season.”
Hopefully Michail Antonio does remain fit for the remainder of the campaign.
David Moyes still needs to sign another striker whatever happens with Antonio. That goes without saying.
If we do bring in a new centre-forward, however, they will have their work cut-out if they are to dislodge the former Nottingham Forest ace as Moyes’s number one striker.
