The 23-year-old joined the Hammers on transfer deadline day for around £31 million. He was handed a five-year £70k-a-week contract (ExWHUemployee).

He made his debut for West Ham against Southampton on Saturday and looked really bright during his 30 minute cameo.

David Moyes names new signing who’s really impressed him already

Vlasic has clearly already made a very big impression at the London Stadium.

The Croatian International, 23, is expected to play a key role for West Ham this season both domestically and on the continent.

Moyes spoke to reporters last night and offered high words of praise for Vlasic, as quoted by Football.London:

“We’ve been really impressed by Niko, his attitude as a professional, is first class we’ve been really really impressed. We like him, we watched him a lot there, when he was in Spartak and then we watched the Euros as well and we see a young player still developing, who’s already got a lot of experience, and caps for Croatia. We know he can play, 7, 10, 11. He can do several roles for us which is important and will be important through the season.”

Vlasic must be given time to settle into life at West Ham.

At the same time, though, Moyes needs to former CSKA Moscow ace to make an immediate impact.

Vlasic will probably be given a start tonight away at Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.
