According to a report from 90 Min, the 27-year-old Hammers midfielder could be a surprise target for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp this summer, if David Moyes fails to keep his side in the Premier League.

The Argentine moved to the London Stadium in the summer of 2016 for around £9 million (Daily Mail), having spent the previous season on loan with the club.

Lanzini initially really impressed for West Ham. But his form has fallen off the side of a cliff this season. In fact, he has been poor for the Hammers since suffering a serious injury in the summer of 2018 just before the World Cup in Russia.

So it would be a huge surprise if Liverpool brought the former River Plate man to Anfield this summer.

The Mirror claimed that Klopp wanted to bring the 27-year-old to Anfield in 2017 for around £30 million. But Lanzini was a different player then.

And it looks like it won’t be happening now.

ExWHUemployee delivered a brutal takedown of Lanzini on Twitter last night, suggesting that the South American isn’t good enough for West Ham, let alone Liverpool…

So it seems as though Lanzini will not be heading to Liverpool this summer.

But it would be no surprise to see the Argentine sold if West Ham receive a decent offer for his services at the end of this season.
