ExWHUemployee has claimed that Arsenal are looking at the possibility of signing West Ham ace Jeremy Ngakia when the youngster’s contract runs out at the end of this month.
The 19-year-old will be free to walk away from the London Stadium for nothing at the end of this month.
The Guardian claimed a couple of days ago that David Moyes still wants to keep the talented young right-back at the club. But as things stand, that is highly unlikely.
The Daily Mail suggest that West Ham have offered Ngakia a new £5,000 per week deal to remain at the London Stadium – a massive £15,000 per week less than the teenager is demanding.
It’s a tricky situation for the Hammers. The young right-back is clearly very talented. But he has only played four Premier League games. Is is too soon for him to be asking for £20,000 per week? Probably.
At the same time though, the east London outfit will be kicking themselves if they lose him for nothing in a couple of weeks time.
ExWHUemployee has claimed that Arsenal are looking at the prospect of signing the West Ham starlet on a free transfer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday, June 17th):
“Clubs have already expressed interest (in Ngakia). The latest one is Norwich, who are looking for a right-back. There are a number of clubs, Palace, Spurs have been linked and Arsenal now as well.”
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will surely be looking to bring a top class right-back to the Emirates this summer, in an effort to provide more competition for Hector Bellerin.
And Ngakia might just be a useful option for Arsenal.
Who knows where the 19-year-old will be playing next season. But at the moment it doesn’t look like it will be at the London Stadium.
