ExWHUemployee shares what David Moyes truly thinks of West Ham youngster Goncalo Cardoso

ExWHUemployee has claimed on Twitter that David Moyes still thinks West Ham youngster Goncalo Cardoso is too raw to play regular Premier League football.

The 19-year-old joined the Hammers from Boavista in the summer of 2019 for around £2.6 million (Football.London).

The young Portuguese ace is still yet to play a senior game for the club, however.

Cardoso has made 16 appearances for the club’s under-23’s. And he has really impressed, with one goal and two assists to his name (Transfermarkt).

The former Boavista man seems to have all the ingredients needed to go on and become a top centre-back.

But he really hasn’t been given an opportunity since Moyes took over at the London Stadium.

And ExWHUemployee has claimed on Twitter that there is a reason for that:

With project restart just around the corner, Moyes may have a selection dilemma ahead of him.

Angelo Ogbonna is struggling with an injury ahead of Saturday’s clash with Wolves (Football.London). And Fabian Balbuena has been in terrible form this season.

So it would not be a huge surprise to see Cardoso included in West Ham’s match-day squad this weekend.

The 21-year-old might not be ready to play the game from the start, however.

Well, that’s what Ex claims Moyes thinks at least.

Perhaps the Hammers boss will rely on experience instead. And as things stand, that might be the best decision he could make.
